- very mutant (changes AG structure a lot)

Disease ( IP, infection)

1) IP: 5-10weeks
2) similar to HBV
3) sub clinical infections
4) 85%chrinic infections ( look at ALT levels in blood- wavy curve)
5) high rush for cirrohsis or hepatocellular carcinoma, if chronic active hepatitis

Diagnostics
A
Many develop chronic active hepatitis

Treatment/ immunity
A
1) Unspecified prevention
2) anti- HCV after months
Treatment
1) with interferon alpha results in resolution of liver inflammation in 50% of cases
