How did social class affect sports?
Split into 2 classes: upper and lower Upper class played sophisticated sports Lower class played simple and violent sports
How did gender affect sports?
Women were not allowed to play as much sport as men but upper class women could play more than lower class women
How did law and order affect sport?
The lower class played violent sports and there was a lot of animal cruelty so the upper class created the police system to stop them
How did education affect sport?
Upper class could go to school so they learnt to read and write so they could come up with new games and write the rules down while the lower class couldn’t
How did availability affect sports?
Lower class worked from sun rise to sun set so they had little time to play sports while the upper class had people working for them so the had more leisure time to play
How did transport affect sport?
Lower class didn’t have transport so they couldn’t get to facilities but upper class did
