What type of athletes is SE focused on?
Favours competitive sports and accomplished players who are competitive and competent with the sport.
Differences between TGFU, SE and Direct instruction
TGFU likes: Fun, promotes understanding of the game, progression, encourages movement
TGFU dislikes: repetitive, too many stops and starts
SE likes: Fun, teaches responsibility, exploration, love of the game, promotes small teams
SE dislikes: Not enough structure, too much competition, not appropriate for young or incapable kids
DI likes: useful for teaching technical aspects, more efficient, control
DI dislikes: Lack of social interaction, boring, authoritarian, teacher driven, limited opportunities for independent learning
What is a constructivist approach?
making sure that players can make correct decisions.
