neural tube defect which can be mild or major disabilities.

what are the 3 types
A
occulta - small separation in the vertebrae (may not even know they have it)
myelomeningocele - open along several vertebrae making the body prone to infections. most severe and can cause paralysis
meningocele - sac of spinal fluid bulges through an opening but spinal cord remains intact

management
A
empower patient, parents, developmental milestones, verticalization asap, arom,prom, prevent contracture, minimize deformities, prepare to transition to adulhood, strengthen remaining muscles
