Q
Major spill protocol:
A
- Clear the area and let people know a bad thing happened and they might die
- Absorbent paper labeled “caution radioactive material” and indicate boundaries
- shield the source
- close the room and lock the door
- Notify the RSO
- Strip naked and clean yo-self and others with lukewarm water and mild soap
- if you are still contaminated after washing –> your RSO gets you hot and sweaty to perspire
- then wash again and wash the area where you sweated all over
*** if it is a radionuclide with a short half life it may be better to let it decay rather than have an orgy
