Speech mapping Flashcards
1
Q
Why is speech mapping different to reig?
A
REIG is simply a static measurement of the hearing iads ability to increase gain to meet target.
Speech mapping is a dynamic process that verifies the performance output of the hearing aid using a simulated speech signal while the client is wearing the aid. Important as it more closley replicates real world output as opposed to REIG. Adjustments to gain handles to meet target can be made during the speech mapping process. Can also see how features such as compression, noise reduction and troubleshooting.
