Voiced
-Are sounds that form a small explosion when said
-Complete closure of articulators (preventing air to escape)
-Release after closure
-[p] and [b]

Plosives
-Sounds make a friction-like noise as they are said
-Constricted opening in the vocal tract
-Friction produces the sound
-[f] and [v]
-[s] and [z]
-[ʧ] and [ʤ]
-[ʒ] and [ʃ]
Fricatives
-Sounds resonate in the nasal cavity
-Air is blocked in the mouth
-Air is released through the nose
-[m] and [n]
-[ŋ] ring
Nasals
-Sound is made between the lips
-[p], [b], and [m]
Bilabial
-Sound is made between the top teeth and bottom lip
-[f] and [v]
Labiodental
-Sound is made with the tongue against the back side of the upper teeth

-Sound is made between the tip of the tongue and near the top teeth

-Sound produced not so much in the mouth, but by air passing from the windpipe through the vocal cords
