these are utterances that state what the speaker believes to be the case or not (expressing or stating opinions)
REPRESENTATIVES
stating, asserting, denying, confessing, admitting, notifying
REPRESENTATIVES
e.g. Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is the first president from Mindanao
REPRESENTATIVES
these utterances are attempts by the speaker to get the addressee to do something
DIRECTIVES
requesting, ordering, forbidding, warning, advising, suggesting, insisting, recommending
DIRECTIVES
e.g. Could you bring my other bag please?
DIRECTIVES
these utterances commit the speaker to some future course of action
