A
- They wanted to overthrow the gov
- They wanted Germany to become communist (run by workers)

A
- 50,000 sparticists rebelled in Berlin (workers)
- Took over key buildings/newspapers and barricaded streets to stop the army
- Friekorps was sent out by Ebert to stop revolt
- 100 civilians killed, including Liebknecht and Luxembourg

How did Ebert’s gov deal with the uprising?
A
Ebert withdrew his gov to the safety of Weimar

How was the uprising stopped?
A
The Friekorps was better organised and armed than the communists, 250,000 strong by 1920

A
No new army created and no communists in the gov
