Notar - to notice - a sensation or observation (with your senses).
darse cuenta de - to realize, use when you think and come to a conclusion.
(they’re very similar, it’s okay to use interchangably)
Note: realizar = to do something/to perform, not to realize!! (regualr conj except for past tense Yo realicé)

Yo noté (preterite!) que fue frío.
Ellos notan cualquier extraño/bizarro?
Te noto un poco triste.

Por is for reason, “for” describing things that have already happened. Can also translate to “through”, “around”, “because of”.

Para is for purpose, it’s future looking, “for” conveying a purpose or destination.

Salimos para Panamá mañana.
Fui a Mexico por la comida.
