Harsh working conditions severe punishments, no unemployment, second largest industrial country, large construction projects, growth of urban population

Government took over all farming land to move farmers to factories instead

Famine millions died, millions killed or sent to gulags, collective farms insufficient
Effects on women’s life
Equal footing in the workplace, higher percentage of women in the workforce than western countries, family life encouraged harder to get a divorce, kindergarten is performed to facilitate women in the workforce plus childcare allowances
