Influential source of efficacy information. Previous experiences with exercise, fitness facilities, and personal trainers.
Past performance experience
For ones who are new and have a little experience with a supervised program. Observation or knowledge of someone else who is successfully participating in a similar program or has done so in the past can increase self efficacy.
Vicarious experience
Form of feedback and encouragement from teachers.
Verbal persuasion
A client may experience emotional arousal pain or fatigue. Physiological states may lead to judgements a knot their ability to participate successfully.
Physiological state appraisals
Negative mood states and emotional beliefs associated with experience. Positive moods states and emotional beliefs, including mastery are related to higher levels of self efficacy.
Emotional state and mood appraisals
Imagined experiences of exercise participation. It’s important to understand a clients preconceived notion of what exercise will be like.
Imaginal experience
