Diagnostic Criteria of Somatic symptom disorder
- one or more somatic symptoms resulting in distress or disruption of daily life
- excessive thoughts about the symptoms
- symptomatic state is persistent for more than 6 months
- No secondary gain
Diagnostic criteria for Factitious Disorder
- falsification of physical or psychological signs/ symptoms associated with the identified deception
- individual presents as ill to others
- behavior is evident even in the absence of obvious external rewards
Diagnostic Criteria for Conversion Disorder
- one or more symptoms of altered motor/ sensory function
- clinical findings incompatible between the symptoms and recognized neurological or medical condition
- causes clinically significant distress or impairment
Diagnostic Criteria for Illness Anxiety Disorder
- preoccupation with having or acquiring a serious illness
- somatic symptoms or absent or MILD
- high level of anxiety about health and the individual is easily alarmed about personal health issues
- preoccupation with illness present for at least 6 months
Define Malingering
vague, inconsistent somatic complaints made for secondary gain
Diagnostic criteria for dissociative amnesia
- Inability to recall important autobiographical information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature, that is inconsistent with ordinary forgetting
- symptoms cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other important areas of functioning

- persistent or recurrent experiences of depersonalization(identity from self), derealization (identity from environment), or both
