How does Solid State Storage store data?
A
Includes Solid State Drives, USB drives and SD cards. They have no moving parts. Sometimes referred to as Flash Memory. Memory chips act like disc drives through software. Chips are embedded as part of an electronic circuit board.

- No moving parts, less likely to be damaged
- Many types are small and portable
- Don’t require a dedicated power source

- SSDs are generally more expensive than HDDs
- Usually have smaller storage capacities than HDDs
- Small portable storage can be easily lost.
