A

Accountability System

A
  • Personal commitment to work within the safety system of an incident, firefighters are responsible for self and crew
  • Following orders
  • Communicating change in location
  • Staying together as a crew
  • Crews entering hazard zone supervised by a designated supervisor

Initial Accountability

A

IC will take Command and Accountability during initial radio report before passing it on to Battalion Commander

Accountability Officers and Branch Directors

A
  • Accountability officers assigned by IC
  • Accountability Branch Director may be assigned if incident escalates, responsibilities include:
    1. Develop and implement plan designed to track and account for all personnel working in the hazard zone
    2. Ensure that Accountability Officers are implemented in each division/group as necessary
    3. Request and manage division/group resources as needed

A

A

Resonsible for accounting for all crews in his/her assigned division/group, maintaing an awareness of their exact location, and status of those crews in the hazard zone

Accountability Officer Accountability Responsibilities

A

Responsible for working with the assigned division/group supervisor and to managing all accountability for that division/group.
-Must maintain close coordination with other accountability officers when an Accountability Branch is created

A
  • Responsible for managing accountability officers and overall accountability system.
  • May initiate PARs at tactical benchmarks or as needed in coordination with Command.
