Rehab Group Area Gives Personnel:

• A physical assessment
• Revitalization - rest, hydration, refreshments
• Medical evaluation and treatment of injuries
• Continual monitoring of physical condition
• Transportation for those requiring treatment
• Initial stress support assessment
• Reassignment

Question 3

Rehab Team May Consist of

Answer 3

• Rescue company
• QIO officer designated as Rehab Group officer
• Engine Officer with crew as needed
• Critical incident stress specialist as needed (chaplaincy)
• Physicians from the EMS Consortium

A: Entry point
B: Hydration and Replenishment
C: Medical Treatment and Transport
D: Medical Reassignment

Notes: If heart rate is > 120bpm at section A, go directly to section C, where, after 20 minutes, if heart rate is > 100, body temp >101 F, Blood Pressure < 100 systolic, personnel will be removed from duty for remainder of shift followed by IV and medical transport.
