set of expected behaviors and actions that is determined by society
equality
process of making things equal, where opportunities are not based on one’s sex
equity
giving individuals what they need, or a fair and just distribution of resources, regardless of others
Race
a social (not biological) construct that groups individuals based on their genetic dispositions related to physical characteristics (skin color)
Ethnicity
an identity that can be chosen by the individual based on their language, culture, and religion
Minority
smaller group that coexists with, but is often dominated by, a majority group
