US vs. USSR dominated international relations. US panic led to research of computer games to simulate relationships (development and research of AI - cognitive psychology). Response and RT focus.
Mothers in the Workforce.

Emphasis on protecting citizens well-being; high-taxes for insurance against hard times. Compulsory primary education introduced.
Binet and Simon (1907).
Intelligence testing used to diagnose children needed extra help in school.
Goddard and Intelligence.
Strong advocate of testing immigrants; used Binet test in other contexts (unintended use). Unrealiable; tested immigrants at ‘gateway’, spoke little to no English, never used a pencil. Coined the term moron (50-70 IQ). Intelligence governed by a single gene, prevent breeding of morons.
Terman and Intelligence.
Stanford-Binet test. National testing to reduce crime (removal of low IQ members to custodial care).
Yerkes and Intelligence.
Three tests for the US Military; alpha (written), beta (illiterate), individual examination (Binet). Intelligence innate and can aid assignment of military specialisation. Supported notion of genetic differences and immigration restriction act passed (1924).
Gould vs. Morton.
Morton concluded racial difference in cranial capacity however when re-analysed by Gould no difference found (mustard seeds, experimental bias).
Immigration and Psychology.
Influx of immigrants (1850’s-1920’s). Eugenics (Galton). Galton also pioneered twin studies and correlation all understanding. Pavlov and Freud attractive movements (emphasis on social experience, consequences of capitalist economy).
