Socialisation Flashcards
Why is socialisation?
The process through which we learn our culture.
What is primary socialisation?
This refers to learning during early childhood when, as babies and infants, we learn the basic behaviour patterns, language and skills that we will need later in life.
What is secondary socialisation?
This takes place outside the home and continues through life. This is how we learn society’s values and norms.
What is an agent of socialisation?
They are groups that make socialisation happen.
Who is Oxana Malaya?
She is a girl who grew up with dogs. She lived like a dog and spent her childhood with them. Her parents left her outside with them and she went inside infrequently. This means that she now has the attributes of a dog.
