Explanations which take into account the way social situations (external) influence our own cognitive thought processes (internal)
Explain the Agentic&Autonomous State
As an authority figure takes responsibility and commands you, State of mind shifts from an autonomous state into an agentic state where we consider ourselves to be acting on there behalf.
what are binding Factors (Social-psychological Factors)
Features of the situation that stand out to the person deciding whether or not to obey. These cues are used to then justify decisions being mad. (e.g fear of consequence or deviation from social norms)
Describe legitimance of Authroity (Social Psychological Factors)
Does the person giving orders have a socially acceptable form of authority. It is harder to challenge an order if doing so also breaks a social norm we are expected to flollow (NSI)
Explain Destructive Authority
The person giving orders has the power to act aggressively against otherss. It is harder to challenge an order if doing so might put you in harms way. (Army commander/police)
