Guards treated prisoners harshly. e.g One prisoner when sending a letter home identified himslef as his prison number, shows he internalised himself as a actual prisoner/number. Also a prisoner went on hunger strike due to the treatment they recieved. Therewas an inability for Participants to easily Withdraw from the study.
