how is the DV operationalised in your self report study
by asking 15 open and closed questions using self report questions on obediance
what sampling technique was used in your self report study
- opportunity sampling
describe the sample used in your self report study
- people of any gender or occupation over the age of 16
- a minimum of 20 participants were used and took place in the county of surrey
- a strength is that it was very convenient for the researcher as it was not time consumer for me collect
name one open question used
- for what reasons would you do as the police tells you
name one closed question used
- if a teacher tells you to stop chewing gum in class would you, yes/no
what is one weakness of your self report study
- lower generalisability
- most of the p’s are 16-18 years old
- can only be generalised to this group of people and not target population
name one weakness of the questions you used
they are all to do with obedience so the participant may know the aim of the research ( demand characteristics)
- reduces the validity as p’s may give socially desirable answers
name one strength of the questions you used
- they are precise and only cover one point meaning its hard to get confused
- this increases the internal validity
what is one strength of your self report study
- standardised procedures used when collecting data
- all p’s asked same question, increasing objectivity
- measuring reliability of the study is higher
