Subcultural Attitudes
deviance is the result of whole groups breaking off from society who have deviant values, and deviance is a result of these individuals conforming to the values and norms of the subculture to which they belong

Selective Law Enforcement
the criminal justice system applies the law to different social groups in different ways: enforced more on working class than middle and upper

people are deprived (materially or in other ways) compared with others in society, causing them to commit crimes to match the wealth of others
