What is primary prevention?

What is secondary prevention?
screening to see if there can be diseases present

What is tertiary prevention?
treating/minimizing effects of disease after diagnosis of disease
What are some screening tools for wellness programs?
- ParQ - how ready a person is for a wellness program
- EASY
- Get Active Questionnaire
Also screen for osteoporosis and fall risk
Aerobic activity amount and intensity (moderate and vigorous) for wellness program
- Mod - 30 min, 5 x week (5-6 on mod Borg)
- Vig - 20 min 3x week (7-8 on mod Borg)
Muscle strengthening amount for wellness program
2 days/week, non-consecutive days
8-10 exercies, 10-15 reps, moderate (5-8) to high (7-8) effort
flexibility exercises/duration for wellness program
2 days/week for at least 10 min
balance exercises duration for wellness program
