Halsey - believes mc more likely to be in grammar schools + believes new system should be implemented to provide greater equality
EMA - Labour Government launched financial scheme for students 16-19 whose parents low income were able to receive max £10,20,30 this was designed to encourage students to stay in education and get bigger qualifications

city academies = improved eucation for black and em students, intended to give public schools more autonomy to boost innovation + raise standards. provided additional English language classes + in class support for targeted students and acknowledged students prior learning experience, increased cultural awareness
Curriculum 2000 = introduced the idea of modular curriculum which required candidates to take modules as they proceeded through course e.g.
- A level split As and A2, exam in jan + June of both years of study
To prevent wastage of ability (compensatory education - Sure start)
network of organisations set up to work with parents to be, parents and children to provide for the physical and intellectual development of babies + young children. Idea was to compensate for children who find themselves academically behind by the time they reach school and gives them opportunities to be more school ready.
To encourage the teaching of meaningful vocational skills to prepare students for work ( The New deal)
education needs to be expanded and developed, next generation needs to be quipped with appropriate skills and knowledge to contribute to growth of country.
introduced by labour aimed at unemployed neets who were offered voluntary work for 6 month job with training full time - improved prospects of young people to get them off streets and give them skills and purpose
