how has social values, norms and mores(morals) changed in our society
they have changed due to time, place and culture. for example in 2015 new legislation made it illegal for people to smoke in the car with passengers under the age of 18
how has the public perception of crime changed in our society
alot of factors affect the public perception of crime e.g. education, campaigning ect. due to a change in beliefs,what we considered criminal is now not vise versa, e.g. homosexuality and smoking.
there has also been some change in what crimes we prioritses because they are immoral and cause extreme physical harm e.g. terrorism
how has the structure of society changed in society
gender equality- it used to be very patriarchal and only men but overtime the structure has improved to be more equal and improve womens status in society
religion- religion had a big influence and alot of power in the past compared to what it is now
how has demographic changes changed in our society
uks population has grown significantly, 1946-48.9 million 2023-67.3 million. greater population means more diversity in sexuality, race ect
how has cultural changes changed in society
attidudes and norms change in societyv which creartes a cultural shift in what is/isnt deviant. so younger people are experiencing more culturally diverse and differing norms, values and mores

buggary act 1533- homosexuality was made illegal and was punishable by death
sexual offences act 1967- decriminalised being gay for 21+
section 28 of the local government act 1988- banned promotion of homosexuality
age of consent 2001- lowered the consent age from 21 to 16
equality act 2010- added sexuality as a protected characteristic
same sex marriage 2014- gay people can now get married

curfew on wife beating 1895- between 10pm and 7 am it was prohibitied ot hit your wife

domestic violence and victims 2004- gave victims same protection as a common assault victim
clares law 2014- allowed ot request to see if your partner has any domestic violence history

health warnings 1965- warning labels had to be added to packaging with graphic images to spead awareness

health act 2006- cant smoke in enclosed spaces
children and families act 2014- cant smoke in cars with passengers under 187
