The percentage of body weight that is muscle, fat or bone
Why is it important to have a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index)
Fat percentage varies from person to person, keeping a healthy percentage is important as it can help protect you from disease such as diabetes.
It’s also important as fat puts added strain on your muscles, bones and joints making you prone to injury
Body Mass Index (BMI)
The most common and easiest way to get your body composition is by calculating your BMI.
How would you calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index)
BMI is calculated by taking your weight in Kg and dividing it by you height in m squared.
In order, what is the most important component of health related fitness for THE Tommey Clerkin?
- Cardiovascular fitness: you need this as the 1st one because Tommy needs to continue in his running for a very long amount of time.
- Body composition: you need a low amount of fat because you do not want to be carrying fat on you while you run because it will weigh you down
- Musclar endurance: Tommy needs this a lot aswell because he needs to continue with running/jogging on
- Flexibilty: he needs because of his stride length
- Muscular strength: we do not need this as importantly as the other but he still needs the basics of muscular strength so that he can continue powering through
