Why do we use brevity?
Used in radio communication to cut down on unnecessary Comms.
what does ABORT mean?
Cease action/attack/event/mission
What does BLIND mean?
No visual contact with friendly ground troops/aircraft-opposite of VISUAL.
What does CAPTURED mean?
Specified surface target or object has been acquired and is being tracked with on board sensor.
What does CONTACT mean?
Sensor information at the stated position. For air to surface it is an acknowledgement of sighting of a specified reference reference either visually or via sensor.
What does EAGLES mean?
Friendly ground troops
What does LASING mean?
The speaker is firing the laser
What does FRIENDLY mean?
A positively identified FRIENDLY aircraft, ship or ground position.
What does GOALIE mean?
A back up guidance capable platform appointed to guide a weapon to the target if the primary platform’s guidance system fails after weapon release.
What does HANDSHAKE mean?
Link 16 air control network participation group initiation between air control unit and controlled aircraft.
What does HOME PLATE mean?
Home airfield or ship.
What does MOVERS mean?
Unidentified surface vehicle(s) in motion.
What does SQUIRTER mean?
A ground object of interest is departing the objective area.
VISUAL
Sighting if a friendly aircraft or ground position.
What does POPEYE mean?
Flying in a cloud or area of low vis.
