What are the three kinds of airspace control?
Procedural, terminal air, and tasking control.
How can you think of procedural control?
Think of it as IFT without radar.
What does procedural control rely on to deconflict traffic?
It relies on the aircraft’s reported position.
In procedural control what is the only way to stay de conflicted with traffic?
Know and follow the procedures.
When do you use Terminal Air Control?
When in Restricted Operating Zones(ROZs).
Can tasking air control clear you into airspace?
No, you can only receive taskings from operation to the next. Airspace must be requested from the JTAC.
How big are kill boxes?
30 minutes by 30 minutes.
What divides kill boxes jnto smaller boxes?
Keypads.
How big are keypads?
10 minutes by 10 minutes.
How are keypads numbered?
Just like the keypad of a phone.
How are kill boxes identified?
Two numbers followed by two letters. I.e. 91 CT
When requesting a ROZ what must you state?
Current position and requested airspace.
What is a ROZ?
A section of airspace controlled by a ground controller, usually associated with a specific operation.
Can a procedural controller clear you into a ROZ?
No, because they are not controlled by a procedural controller.
If you are not part of an operation, can you be cleared into a ROZ?
No.
