very small laryngeal opening, narrow trachea, long soft palate, mouth isnt wide, gets stuck in pharyngeal diverticulum, prone to spasms
what anesthetic precautions must be taken
malignant hyperthermia, less accessible veins. local blocks are commonly used
preanesthetic drugs/site & induction drugs
atropine, TKX or Atropine/Ace/Ketamine
atropine- lateral cervical muscles
how long to withhold food for (pre-anes)
8-12 hours
