- behaviour is easily understood and psychologists can analyse it
- experiments are conducted in strict environments therefore can be generalised to all

A
- spontaneous behaviour isn’t explained
- some behaviour are innate and aren’t learned through experience
- most studies are laboratory therefore low ecological validity as the method is experimental therefore rarely relate to real life situations
