Sliding Filament theory Flashcards
1
Q
What does the Sliding Filament Theory explain?
A
How muscles contract when stimulated, there is a reaction between the myosin and the actin in each muscle and cross-bridges are formed on the actin filament. the amount of force produced depends on the number of cross-bridges formed.

Q
What is a fascicle?
A
Each muscle can contain thousand of muscle fibres up to 30cm long, these bundles are called fascicle, which are protected by dense sheath called perimysium.
