1st Floor Fire

A

1st line stretched through front door on 1st floor to extinguish fire
2nd line if not needed to back up 1st line shall be stretched through front door on 2nd floor (parlor) to maintain integrity of the interior stairs

BROWNSTONE TYPE ROWFRAME - Building fully involved and fire in exposures - HOLDING OPERATION

A

1st Engine drops 2 lines 1 3/4 and 3 1/2
1st line to fire building
2nd line back up 1st, if not needed stretched to top floor of most severe exposure
3rd line if 2nd backs up 1st, then to top floor of most severe exposure, if 2nd is there go to other exposure.
In both cases 2nd and 3rd line must be sure intermediate floors are checked while proceeding to top floor.

Line placement in a VACANT row frame in a row of occupied frames.

A

1st engine drops 2 lines, 3 1/2 and 1 3/4.
1st line most severe exposure
2nd line if not needed to back up 1st, stretched into fire building or other exposure.
3rd goes where ever the 2nd did not go.
Occupied exposures should be given first consideration and all operations should be in the direction.

A

1st engine drops 2 lines, 3 1/2 and 1 3/4
1st line operates from exterior until LCS is placed in operation, then 1st line goes to most severe exposure.
2nd line if not needed to back up 1st, stretched to opposite exposure or through an exposure to the rear yard.
