Slide 55 in week 12, text chapters 1-2 Flashcards
What makes a successful project?
When:
Deliverables satisfy the customer
Deliverable is given to the project customer on time
Project team met project objectives of scope, schedule, cost
Project team members increased skills and knowledge as a result
Organization has benefited from the lessons learned by the project team
What’s a project charter?
A charter is what the sponsor wants to achieve, as well as project limits and constraints. The goal is uniform understanding.
It’s written by the sponsor, manager, team, or initiator.
Why are project charters important?
It ensures that the project manager, project team, project sponsor and project customer understand the goals and constraints of the project in the same way.
What’s project scope?
It describes what the project is addressing, its deliverables, its key stakeholders, and customers and their requirements.
Briefly: it tells you what’s included or not included in a project. This way you do everything you’re supposed to, but nothing extra. Because fuck you, what is this, free labour? Communist Russia? I don’t think so.
Why is defining a scope important?
If team members clearly understand the scope, they’ll better satisfy the customer. But not in that way you weirdo.
