- Snoring and apnoeic episodes (witnessed)
- Daytime sleepiness/fatigue
- Moodiness/poor attention etc

Investigation + definition of an apnoeic event
A
Polysomnography
- At least 10 seconds between breaths PLUS
- Neurological arousal AND/OR
- At least 3% desaturation

Management of sleep apnoea
A
- Lifestyle (weight loss, avoiding alcohol/sedatives, smoking cessation, upright/lateral sleeping position)
- Devices (mandibular advancement splint, CPAP)
- Surgery (maxillomandibular advancement, other)
