Skin, Thermoregulation, Skeleto-Muscular System, and Cells and Tissues. Flashcards
What are five functions of the skin?
Protection from germs, Excretion, Covering, Temperature Regulation, and Gathering Information (feeling).
What are the two most serious life-threats to a seriously burned patient?
Keeping germs out of the body, and keeping fluids in.

Name three types of muscles, and their functions.

Name three types of joints, their types of movement, and where they are found in the body.
Hinge: Forward and backward movement, Elbow, Knees. Pivot: Rotation, Neck, Hips. Ball and Socket: To allow movement in all directions, Wrist.
Name good sources and how it contributes to bone strength for Protein, Calcium + Phosphorous, and Vitamin D.
Protein: Provides flexibility, Meat, Fish, Eggs, and Milk. Calcium + Phosphorous: Strengthens Bones, Milk. Vitamin D: Strengthens Bones, Sunlight.
