Drug Treatment for Acne

-Patients with acne vulgaris should be offered a 12-week course of first-line treatment. May take 6-8 weeks for treatment to become noticeable.
-MUST COMPLETE COURSE

First line for ANY severity:
Topical adapalene with benzoyl peroxide or topical tretinoin with clindamycin

Mild-Moderate:
-Topical benzoyl peroxide with clindamycin

Moderate-Severe:
-Topical adapalene with benzoyl peroxide WITH oral lymecycline or doxycycline
-Topical azelaic acid WITH oral lymecycline or doxycycline
