Q

Outline the sagittal plane

A
  • cuts body into left and right sections
  • flexion and extension occurs
  • plantar flexion and dorsiflexion occur
  • movements occur parallel to plane

Q

Outline the horizontal plane

A
•rotation occurs in horizontal plane
•lateral & medial rotation
(lateral rotation occurs away from the midline of the body, medial occurs towards)
•pronation and supination
•horizontal adduction and abduction

Q

Outline the frontal plane

A

•cuts the body into front and back
•adduction and abduction occur
•lateral flexion, inversion, eversion, elevation and depression all occur
(Lateral flexion is bending the trunk sideways away from midline)
(Inversion&eversion-kicking phase of breaststroke)
