Primary ossification what happens?
A
Cartilage begins to ossify(turn to bone w/ calcium), spreads until covers entire thing, space forms in center becomes medullary cavity

Secondary ossification?
A
Ossification occurs at both ends of bone, carts life plate will remain from 1st&second ossification.

Growth plate only shows up in a young animal why?
A
Because the bone has not finishe growing in length yet.

A
Compresses and moves so there is less wear and tear of the actual bone
