- explained by features of current environment and current situation people are in

A
- in line with societies views, society allocates reward and punishment based on individual action, rarely acknowledge situation
- practical, can predict and manage someone’s behaviour, predictable so we can work out negative traits and prepare

- harder to manipulate and study individual differences, can’t control and manipulate someone’s disposition
