what is nature?
A

thoughts, feelings and behaviour are controlled by factors we experience during our lifetime, learned after birth

strengths of nature?
A
- practical, predictable so we can work out negative traits they are likely to have and prepare
- doesn’t blame individuals for inherited characteristics, negative traits aren’t their fault
- easier to measure objectively, inherited genes cannbe measure scientifically, less interpretation

weaknesses of nature?
A
- encourages individuals to blame inheritance and not change, think they dont have ability to improve
- likely to be a mix of both, no study finds 100% effect of nature
- harder to control and manipulate factors before birth

- practical, can plan and raise individuals with positive traits
- individuals aren’t to blame for upbringing, negative traits are learned not chosen
- easier to control and manipulate factors after birth to cause positive traits
