What colour handsignal would you expect to see on a
track circuit block - opposite the signal protecting the cross over where trains are returning to the proper line?
Or opposite any signal where trains may have to stop?

24
Q

25
Q

Before entering the single line what must the driver make sure?

A

Clearly identify pilotman
Clearly understand instructions from the pilotman
Have the personal authority of the pilotman to enter the single line

26
Q

What form should the pilotman give you and when is it not needed?

A
Single line working ticket- RT3193
Do not need if :-
Assist a failed train
Evacuate passengers from a failed train
Remove a portion of a divided train
Remove a train or vehicle that has proceeded without authority
27
Q

In single line working how will wrong direction movements be controlled?

A

By hand signals except where it is possible for shunting or position light signals to be worked
A hand signaller will not be provided if there is a main aspect signal to return the train to the proper line at the end of the single line.

28
Q

Single line working
Wrong direction movements
Returning to proper line.
If there is no main aspect signal or handsignaller who will accompany you and where will you stop?

A

Pilotman
Stop the train on TCB, opposite the signal which applies to the obstructed line protecting the cross over where trains return to the proper line.

29
Q

If first train over the single line you must stop if instructed by the pilotman so he can?

A

Tell anyone on or near the line that SLW has been introduced
Tell any crossing keeper the SLW arrangements
Check that points are properly secured

30
Q

If first train over the single line and not accompanied by pilotman you must if instructed by pilotman to tell anyone on or near the line?

A

That SLW has been introduced

The line over which it applies
