16
Q

What’s the minimum amount of traction motors we need for safe operations of the train?

A

50%

17
Q

While powering if we get a slip/slide event and get a reduced performance light how can we attempt to clear the fault?

A

Move MC to coast (0) for at least 2 seconds

18
Q

What indication would you get in the active cab (lead) if someone else puts their key in and on?

A

Another cab active light will illuminate

19
Q

What is the indication if there is an attempt made to activate another cab if another cab is already activated?

A

Another active can indicator illuminates in both cabs and a buzzer sounds in the cab where the other attempt is being made

20
Q

If we are doing a prep and there is another cab active when there shouldn’t be, what do we do to rectify?

A

Inspect cleaners key switch in lead
Make cab to cab
Nobody responds inspect each cab for being active including cleaners keys

21
Q

How must a driver first attempt to deactivate the cab if there is no key in?

A

Inserting the Siemens key and activating and deactivating

22
Q

If a driver is unable to deactivate a cab, what must the driver do?

A

Trip cab/train manned mcb
Submit tmm

23
Q

If there is no cctv what circuit breakers do you check?

A

Cctv central control mcb
Dc-dc inverter pa, pi display mcb
If they are set trip and reset
If they are tripped reinstate

24
Q

If there is failure of pids what mcbs do you check?

A

Dc-dc inverter pa, pi display
Passenger information display mcb

25
Q

How do you reset a dtrs? (6 steps)

A
  1. Deactivate cab
  2. Trip and reset dtrs mcb
  3. Activate cab
  4. Re-enter tdn
    5.conduct radio test
  5. Submit tmm rectified in running
26
Q

How do you isolate a dtrs and run the train without it? (4 steps)

A

1.deactivate cab
2. Trip dtrs mcb
3. Re-activate cab
4.portable dtrs in cradle
Re enter tdn manually in portable
Only use when safe to do so

27
Q

How many PA systems are on the train and what are they?

A

Stand alone (phone mic)
Backup on dtrs (pa button)

28
Q

Is the train still operational if neither pa is working?

A

No must be taken out of service

29
Q

What must a driver do if there is a failure of the pa on a dock?

A

Check pa fault light is illuminated
Check PA systems mcb
Check dc-dc inverter pa,pi display mcb
If they don’t work after tripping and resetting:
Stable the train

30
Q

If there is a pa failure in running what must we do?

A

Check PA system on dtrs
If that doesn’t work check all mcbs in lead
If they are set trip dc dc inverter pa,pi display mcb for 2 mins
Reset and recheck if pa works

31
Q

What are the 4 different pants fault scenarios?

A

One fails to raise
All fail to raise after pants up is pressed
Pantos fail to lower when train stable
Pantos fail to lower when panto down is pressed

32
Q

What other causes may we need to isolate a defective panto?

A

Train defects affecting the 1500vdc systems on the train
Over head faults
Damaged pantos
