What does abs stand for?
Automatic block signalling
What are the 2 objects of abs system?
Where two or more trains are to proceed in the same direction, to prevent more than one train being in a track section at the same time
On bi directional lines to prevent trains running in opposite directions in a signal line section
What are the station limits in abs?
Portion of line between the arriving home and the first auto in advance of the departing home or where no departing home is provided next auto ahead of the arriving home

What is the object of atc?

When trains are proceeding in opposing directions through single line section it’s to prevent more than one train entering the single line section at the same time
Can drivers be asked to operate points in atc?
Yes at remote locations during periods of signal failures

What do all home arrival signals have a provision for?
Low speed aspect
Why would a home departure signal have a low speed caution on it?
It applies for shunting moves into a siding or low speed movement toward another line which is not worked under atc rules
