A
Idea that a child has many different strategies when attempting a task and over time the less efficient ones get replaced by more efficient ones.

What did Siagler and Robinson study
A
4-5 year olds.
Solving addition problems in a approach where the child is tested lots in short periods of time (MICROGENETIC METHOD) to observe the development of new strategies and look and the trial and error the children make. They found children used 4 main strategies and only 20% used the same one.
In second testing 30% used a new strategy
