Horizontally abduct the shoulder
Deltoid Origin
Lateral one third of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula
Deltoid Insertion
Deltoid tuberosity
Trapezius Actions: Upper Fibers
Bilaterally: Extend the head and neck
Unilaterally:
Laterally flex the head and neck to the same side
Rotate the head and neck to the opposite sides
Elevate the scapula
Upwardly rotate the scapula
Trapezius Actions: Middle Fibers
Adduct the scapula
Stabilize the scapula
Trapezius Actions: Lower Fibers
Depress the scapula
Upwardly rotate the scapula

External occipital protuberance,
medial portion of the superior nuchal line of the occiput,
ligamentum nuchae and spinous process of C-7- T-12

Intertubercular groove of the humerus

Extend shoulder
