Shoulders Flashcards
How long is each clavicle?
each clavicle 1 cranial unit long, also the same height as the Manubrium and gladiolus
how far apart are the Clavicles
The clavicles are 2 finger widths apart
what kind of joint does the clavicle have
the clavicle has an ellipsoid joint connected to the manubrium
What are the measurements of the scapula
The scapula is 1 cranial unit high and a little less than 1 cranial unit wide, and the 2 scapula are 1 cranial unit apart, The scapula can also be compared to a cupped hand
What are the 2 parts of the scapula
The body and the spine
What parts of the scapula can be seen
The medial ridge, the spine, and the acromion process.
What is the shape of the spine of the scapula and why is it important?
The spine of the scapula twists from more flat at the top to moving backward. This helps understand lighting
How do the body and spine of the scapula relate?
They form an angle over 90°
What different ways does the scapula appear on the back
the scapula can either appear as indentations or as protrusions. this can be affected by the body type of the model. The scapula is more likely to be indentations on a muscular or heavy body. On a lean person the scapula is more likely to be seen a protrusions
Describe the relation ship of size between the ribcage and the shoulder girdle.
The ribcage itself is thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom, but with the shoulder girdle is wider the bottom of the ribs.
describe the difference between the shoulder girdle of men and women
the shoulder girdle is usually bigger on men than women
What is the only bone to bone connection from the shoulder girdle to the torso?
The clavicle to the manubrium. The rest of the torso is separated from the shoulder girdle by muscles
describe the shape of the the sternomastoid when is relaxed vs tense.
the sternomastoid has a box like shape when it’s relaxed and a V shape when it’s tense (the neck is looking up)
What is bone is the acromion process part of?
The acromion process is a part of the scapula
What is the acromion process
The acromion process is a step down from the clavicle
