Shoulder Orthopedic Tests Flashcards
Abbott-Saunders Test
(+) when pt feels pain as the tendon glides beneath examiners finger — biceps tendonitis
Apley’s Scratch Test
Exacerbation of the pt’s pain indicates degenerative tendinitis of rotator cuff muscles, usually supraspinatus tendonitis
Apprehension Test (ant and post)
(+) if pt is too apprehensive to preform, indicates a possible shoulder dislocation
Codman Drop Arm Test
If pt is unable to return the arm to the side slowly or has severe pain, test is positive for rotator cuff tear (supraspinatus)

Supraspinatus Press Test
Weakness or experiences pain is positive test
Suggests supraspinatus tendon or muscle tear
Yergason Test
