What is the mechanism of hypovolemic shock?
A
When circulating volume falls, cardiac output and pulse pressure decrease -> his is detected by baroreceptors -> neural reflexes cause increased sympathetic outflow to heart and other organs -> increase in HR, vasoconstriction, redistribution of blood flow from nonvital organs eg skin, GI tract, kidneys
