It has powers to manage use of a harbour and responsibility to conserve the harbour for all users.

What powers does the SHA have?
A
- Removal of un serviceable vessels and wrecks
- Charge dues
- Regulate when ships can arrive, depart and where they can moor
- Positioning and maintenance of navigational markers
- Make byelaws and general directions for regulation of harbour use.
